How To Enable Discord Screen Share

Posted on January 8, 2020 Written by admin Leave a Comment

Discord is one of the most diverse platforms out there. Discord is a platform that allows for voice and text chats by setting up small or large servers. Typically the app is used for groups involved in gaming, business or social entities.

If you’re already on Discord, you also have the capability to do a video call and screen share as well. The video chat allows for up to 9 members to simultaneously share their face or share their screen at the same time.

This is incredible considering other competitors such as Google Hangout, Skype or Zoom cannot handle such vast functionalities. The Discord screen share feature is already automatically built-in and requires no third-party app or further configuration.

We’ll uncover how to enable Discord screen share so you can take advantage of this feature. Whether it’s for business or training purposes or gaming, this feature makes everything efficient and easy.

Video and Camera Settings

To start you must ensure that all of your video and audio on your computer is working properly. Most computers should have a built-in webcam and microphone but if you plan on using external hardware, hook them up as necessary.

Step 1: Tap on the cog icon to the right of your username. This is located in the lower left-hand portion of the Discord screen.

On the bottom of the screen next to the video call icon, you’ll see a monitor screen icon. Click on that screen to enable discord screen share.

Discord has the capability for you to change between a video call and screen share anytime throughout the call.

Now you’ve successfully enabled discord screen share through your Desktop! It is important to note that Discord currently doesn’t offer the ability to screen share using mobile devices.

Here are other notable features to understand when performing a video call on Discord.

Sharing Sound

You are able to share sound when performing a screen share. In the application window section, simply toogle the Sound button to the right. This can be useful if you want your friend on the other line to hear the sounds coming from your desktop.

Mute Microphone

Maybe you’re in a loud environment and don’t want the person on the other end to hear all of your noise, but you still need to share your screen. There is an option to mute your microphone. When you expanded the options earlier, you should see a microphone icon. Tap that icon to mute.

Full Screen

The expansion button on the right allows you to expand full screen. However, you can exit out of the full screen or press the ESC button on your keyboard in order to make the application window smaller.

This is useful so you can still see the Discord chat while moving to other areas of your screen. We hope you enjoyed this short tutorial. Now you know how to successfully enable Discord screen share on your video calls.

How To Setup Port Forwarding PS4

Posted on January 6, 2020 Written by admin Leave a Comment

Do you wanna know what is ps4 port forwarding? If you’re a gamer, you may or may not have encountered internet connectivity issues. Connecting to the internet on a PS4 can sometimes be difficult depending on what kind of WiFi network you have. Sometimes your router or networking equipment is causing a malfunction for your connection as well.

To solve this issue we’ll have to use a strategy called “NAT.” NAT is also known as Network Address Translation and this refers to how routers can translate public IP addresses into private IP addresses.

Now, one way to perform NAT is to use PS4 port forwarding. The Port forwarding gives you the capability to redirect a communication request from one IP address and port combination to a different one. The reason why PS4 port forwarding is useful is that, in the gaming world, you want people to be able to connect to your PS4. Essentially we are taking data that shows up in certain ports and sending it to a particular device such as your PS4.

So this means you can link your online gaming serves to your PS4.

How To Conduct Ps4 Port Forwarding

Follow the steps below to set up an open NAT through port forwarding. An open NAT simply means that your gaming console can connect to anyone’s game and even host games. Other players will be able to find and connect to you as well.

Step 1) Open your settings on your Playstation console.

Step 2) Scroll down on your settings and select Network. It should have a globe-like icon.

Step 3) On the bottom of this menu, you should see “View Connection Status.” Select that option.

Step 4) Please note the IP Address and the MAC address of your PS4. Both addresses should display on this menu. Also note that in the picture below, the default gateway means your router number.

Step 5) Check your routers stick on the website to log into your router’s control settings. If you’re having trouble with this step, call the customer support number for your router to find out.

Step 6) You have to manually assign a static IP address to your PS4 console using data from step 4. This all depends on the wifi that you have. For example in Google WiFi, you’ll find this capability in the Advanced networking section of the companion app.

Step 7) Find and locate the port forwarding rules for your router. Again if you have trouble then call your router and internet service provider to find out. For Google WiFi, it’ll be under advanced networking.

To log into your Router, open up a web browser such as Chrome. Then type the router IP address into the URL bar and then press enter. Any browser such as Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Opera or Edge would work.

Then a window will pop up asking for authentication. From there you have to enter your username and password. If you’ve never set them, then you’ll have to call your router company to have it reset.

Here’s How To Find The Port Forwarding Section In Your Browser

Once you’re logged into your router, try to find the port forwarding section. The problem is that for each router, it is different. Sometimes it may be under the Apps and Gaming or under Virtual Servers. Here’s an example from the Linksys router.

Step 8) Creating a Port Forward, As you configure your port forward, you may be asked about TCP or UDP. If your router accepts the “both” protocol then type the following:

Protocol Both: 1935,3074,3478-3480

If you have to forward TCP and UDP as separate then you need 2 sets of port forward addresses. Type in the following for this scenario:

Protocol TCP: 1935, 3478-3490

Protocol UDP: 3074, 3478-3479

This picture should help to clarify.

Once you’ve changed the rules and forwarding information to PS4 port forwarding, you can now restart your PS4 console. If you go back onto your PlayStation, you should see an Open NAT now. Be conscious of the NAT type you’re playing because games such as Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Warframe are particular about your NAT Type.

Some games won’t let you play if you’re not in their particular required NAT type. Anyways, we hope now you can enjoy your multi-player gaming on PS4!
